Last year over 5 million people were newly infected with
HIV. More than half were aged between 15 and 24.
Raising awareness of how HIV is transmitted is one of the best
ways we can help stop the epidemic. By empowering young people to
fight stigma, break taboos and smash ignorance we can change
attitudes - and help save lives.
As part of our ongoing commitment to HIV and AIDS awareness, we've
teamed up with MTV to launch the 'Stop HIV: Get
Lippy' campaign in 2008. Together we're working to raise
awareness amongst young people about HIV and AIDS, and raise funds
for MTV's Staying Alive Foundation, who support grass-roots
charities around the world to help raise awareness and educating
young people about HIV and AIDS.
